Entry Level Referee Course

Join our upcoming course in July 2023!

We will be hosting a Referee License Course this summer in preparation for the upcoming Fall 2023 Season.

For years, we have succeeded in developing referees from the players, parents and other family members within WCCYSL. Having played soccer certainly helps, but is not a requirement. Those 13 and older have the opportunity to develop a sound knowledge of soccer while helping our league. We also provide mentoring opportunities throughout the season to help new and experienced referees improve their officiating skills.

If you have thought about becoming a soccer referee, no need to wait! Being a licensed soccer referee is a great way to support our league, help the players and families learn more about soccer and earn some money at the same time. Our referee pay and bonus program are equal to or better than that paid by other local leagues!

To obtain your CNRA Referee License you are required to complete several online training modules then attend a 3-hour field session. You must complete the online training by July 18. The field training will be held on Saturday, July 22 from 9 AM to 12 PM at Hanna Ranch Soccer Park in Hercules

WCCYSL hosts Entry-Level Referee Courses in February and August. Those who successfully complete the course will earn their Grassroots license, which will allow them to referee matches. To pass the course, candidates must complete the online coursework and an in-person field session. After completing the online coursework and field session, candidates will be required to pass an exam online to earn their license.

Candidates must be at least 13 years old and are not required to have any prior soccer experience. To get started with the course and learn about our next available field session, please contact:
