WCCYSL Referee Information
BECOME A REFEREE
WCCYSL Needs you!
Help out, have fun, make money. The league has upwards of 45 matches a weekend on its fields that it needs to supply referees for. Not counting neutral referees that is around 100 referee assignments per week. You can start out with younger games, do the sidelines, and with the guidance of a mentor, you can learn quickly.
Grade 8 Class: This entry level referee course is an 18 hour course that meets two nights per week from 6:30 to 9:30 for 6 nights. The league reimburses the cost of the class and the first year license registration fee for those who referee a designated number of WCCYSL games. Class size is limited to 25. Enrollment is open to adults and youth playing U14 or above. The class format is 6 nights of lectures, videos, and discussions, with a test on the last night. The Grade 8 license qualifies for District required "team affiliated referee".
If you are interested in becoming a referee, please attend an upcoming referee class in the area. Adults and youth ages 14 and above are welcome (not just playing u-14).
