Referee Meeting
When: Mon, August 30, 7pm – 8pm
Where: WCCYSL Club House
Mandatory annual meeting for all referees that plan to work WCCYSL-hosted games for the Fall 2010 season.
This is the first of two sessions being held - 2nd is on Sept 7. Contact is George Dias.

NEED YOUR HELP WITH EVENTS
The Fall is season has kicked-off and I am looking for help with a few upcoming events:
Sunday, September 12, 2010 - OPENING DAY - 11am - 2pm at HMHS
- Need 3-4 people who would like to work on the Opening Day committee.
- Need 5 people to help the day of the event... helping set-up, organizing teams on field for parade, booth set-ups,
- Raffle sales the day of
- Anyone out there who is willing to DJ the event? Or knows a DJ who is willing to donate his/her time and equipment at this event? Our league president usually announces parade participants, but otherwise it would be great to have someone spin some tunes and engage the crowd.
- How about a Photographer willing to capture the day and the Banner winners. Pictures will be posted on wccysl.com.
Sunday, September 19, 2010 - EL SOBRANTE STROLL from 11am - 4pm
- Set-up booth morning of Stroll
- Help gathering parade participants at a specified meeting time and place (would need to be in charge of banner too.. we already have one.)
Sunday, September 26, 2010 - PHOTO DAY - 9am-3pm at PV Baseball Field
- Need 2-3 people to help the day of with various activities: collecting Trophy Order Forms, helping set-up booths, league merchandise sales, etc....

Soccer Training Academy commences August 2nd
Academy sessions for each age group will be at the Pinole Valley West field at the following times
8/2 4:30 - 6:00 U8 B 6:15 - 7:45 U8G
8/3 4:30 - 6:00 U10G 6:15 - 7:45 U10B
8/4 4:30 - 6:00 U12B 6:15 - 7:45 U12G
8/5 4:30 - 6:00 U14G 6:15 - 7:45 U14B
8/6 5:00 - 6:15 U6* 6:30 - 7:45 U6*
*U6 Academy - 2 sessions - players may attend either or both.
Commencing August 9th through October 1, U8 through U14 teams will receive individual training at their scheduled practices every other week.
There will be two academy style training sessions for U6 players every Friday at PVW through Oct 2nd.

WCCYSL will be at the El Sobrante Stroll!
Join WCCYSL families on Sunday, September 19th at the 17th Annual El Sobrante Stroll! Come out and have fun with other soccer families as we parade down San Pablo Dam Road wearing our BLUE WCCYSL UNIFORMS! Parents and siblings wear your WCCYSL wear. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
Meet at 10:30am in the parking lot of the Walgreens at 3630 San Pablo Dam Road (cross street is El Portal). Parade will begin at 11am at Walgreens.
WCCYSL will also have a booth along the Dam Road. Be sure to stop by and register for a FREE Spring Soccer Registration! The Stroll ends at 4pm. |

Volunteers Needed
The West Contra Costa Youth Soccer League is run entirely by volunteers. We are always looking for additional helpers. Most of the jobs don’t require any soccer knowledge. So, if you are interested in working with a terrific group of people, please contact someone on the Board or come to one of our monthly meetings.
Presently we are looking for people to help in the following positions:

Assistant to Director of Referees
Director of Publicity and Fundraising

Way to go FCA Jaguars!!!
The FCA Jaguars U-13 Boys team of the WCCYSL won the Nevada Zephyr Cup 2010 under-12B Gold Division Championship. Congratulations to the FCA Jaguars for winning the Nevada Zephyr Cup!
The FCA Jaguars defeated the Spanish Springs SC Jaguars of Nevada 4-1, California Rush Nike 98 2-1, International SC Storm of Nevada 3-1, and Sierra Tahoe South Tahoe Blizzards 8-0.

YOUR CLUB HOUSE
Coaches and Managers - Our league club house is available for use by all league members. The room has tables and chairs and can hold up to 40 people, so it's a great spot to conduct classroom sessions for players, team and parent meetings, etc. If you would like to reserve the space or just have questions about it, please contact George Dias at vp@wccysl.com.

Board meetings are held the second Thursday of each month in the league clubhouse. Meetings start at 7:00 PM November through March, 7:30 PM April through October. WCCYSL parents and members are encouraged to attend.
