FCA Chelsea (04G) are 2014 Spring League Champs

Chelsea received a free entry into State Cup as a bronze team and rode that ticket to the White Division Championship game.  Chelsea advanced undefeated through Rounds 1 and 2 scoring 31 goals and allowing only 2.  Round 3 was a difficult 2-1 win and Round 4 was a 1-0 win with Chelsea scoring on a corner kick in the last seconds of the game.  The championship game was against a Sac Alliance team that had won every game by 4 goals or more and outscored their opponents 49-4 in the first four rounds!  With all that offense from both sides, the Championship game was a defensive battle with Sac Alliance breaking through for a 1-0 win.  Great effort against higher level teams and a good season overall.
The girls took December to rest and then played an undefeated indoor season out at Mare Island.  This Spring they moved up to Silver in the Norcal Spring League and went 8-0-0.  This Fall they are slated for Silver Elite and continue their improvement on the field.

FCA Reign Take 2014 Spring Norcal Premier U13G Silver Region 3/4 Title

FCA Reign capped a successful 2013-2014 campaign by capturing its second division title, taking the 2014 Spring Norcal Premier U13G Silver Region 3/4 trophy.  Reign finished the season with a 6-1-1 record, fending off stiff competition from divisional rivals Pleasanton Rage, Benicia Arsenal and San Ramon Azuri.
Reign fortified itself with new additions earlier this year who helped solidify Reign’s midfield to go along with its already stout defensive unit and potent offensive attack.  Reign will head into the 2014 Fall Norcal Premier season looking to defend its Silver State Cup Championship from last year.  Coaches Delvin Garcia, Diego Orellana and Lupe Castaneda hope to carry on the momentum that they had put together this past season and look forward to further developing this formidable squad

Redwood City- FCA Milano won the Silver Division Championship at the 43rd Annual Juventus Tournament of Champions on August 2-4, 2013, the oldest youth soccer tournament in the Bay Area.

A U10 boys team, Milano emerged from group play to face Juventus in the Semi-Final.  Employing a smothering defense and creative playmaking, Milano emerged with a decisive 3-0 victory over the host team.

In the finals, Milano took on Lobitos SJU in a re-match of a game played earlier in the weekend,  which Milano had fought back from a 2-0 deficit to win 5-3.   A extra motivated Lobitos team came ready to play and matched Milano’s intensity with its own physical brand of play throughout the match.   Milano maintained its poise with skilled ball control to come away with a thrilling 2-1 victory.  Thanks also go out to FCA Arsenal for providing a key guest player for the tournament.

Redwood City- U13 Girls FCA Reign reached the finals of the Silver Division at the Juventus Tournament of Champions. Playing short-handed throughout the tournament, Reign was able to emerge from bracket play to face the host club, Juventus Razzo in the Semi-Finals of the Silver Division.

Notwithstanding constant attacking by Reigns dynamic strikers, Juventus was able to thwart more than a dozen shots on goal throughout the match. Reign’s stifling back four was able to prevent Juventus’ front line from getting off any shots with effective ball tackling, and emerged with a 1-0 victory.

Reign took on Union City Premier 01G in the finals and faced an early 2-0 deficit at the half. With two of its starters injured early, Reign played valiantly in the second half, coming up with two goals late in the game, but ultimately ran out of gas, falling 3-2 in the Championship. Kudos to the FCA Strikers for loaning several players to a depleted Reign squad.

In the single elimination game the boys of FCA Manchester were down 2-0 against Manteca Boca Jr.  The boys played with determination and came back in the second half to win 4-3.  In the semi-final match FCA Manchester beat Palo Alto Blue 4-1 and went on to beat Santa Rosa United 4-1 in the finals.  These three teams were Premier level, but FCA Manchester never gave up and had a record of 12 goals for and 5 goals against.  FCA Manchester was 15 minutes away from being in the top 8, they played hard and had a great State Cup performance.  These guys are a great bunch of players!
